Well we have ordered a new wood heater.  It’s a mother.   After advice, we decided to take the old wood burning stove out of the kitchen and put the new one in there.  This means dismantling parts of the fireplace.  Luckily, much of what was bricked up behind and under the stove is sand and rubble, so we didn’t have too much trouble getting the stove itself out. My kitchen looks like a pool hall.

My kitchen looks like a pool hall.

So lots happened here yesterday. Firstly, the electricians came and installed the kitchen lights I’d purchased on eBay.   After they were in, I realised that they look a bit like pool hall lights.  Now I can’t get that idea out of my head.  Every time I go into the kitchen, I think POOL HALL. I just bought my dream stove…

I just bought my dream stove…

I’m sooo excited. It’s being shipped to the local depot. It’s a Westinghouse PSP632S. It has all the features I wanted: Stainless steel 60cm wide (I hate narrow ovens – I use big pots and they never fit!) Fan-forced A separate grill. Ceramic cooktop (hate cleaning cooktops) The only thing it doesn’t do is clean itself.. those were a bit out of our budget range for the moment.   I like gas burners, but with toddlers, probably not the safest.
